Lois Evelyn Sweat, 72, of Jacksonville went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 10, 2016. She was born on October 29, 1943 to Claude Oliver Carnes and Enoree Carnes in Dalton, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Enoree Carnes; brother, Malachi Carnes; sister-in-law, Anita Carnes; mother-in-law, Doris McKoy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and grandparents.
She attended Maddox Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville where she has been the church pianist since 1991. Evelyn worked for Doug Wilkinson Realty, United Abstract and Title Company, retiring in 1995.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of more than 53 years, John Sweat of Jacksonville, Arkansas, her children, David Sweat of Memphis, Tennessee; Diane Goode of Jacksonville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Selina Lovston, Brittany Teal, Sonja Teal and Zoe Bergmire-Sweat; two great-grandchildren, Conner Harris and Kammie Harris; son-in-law, George Goode.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Road Baptist Church, 702 E. Maddox Road, Jacksonville with Pastor Cory Platt and Rodney Westmoreland officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Maddox Road Baptist Church in her honor.

We both send our condolences. It’s tough watching your parents decline in health. I am glad you could be closer to your folks these past few years. I still miss you and hope we get a chance to talk soon. Your Mom looks like she enjoyed life and had a beautiful smile. She must have loved you a great deal…you were a very good son to her!
