Michael E Steele, 74 of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9, 2016.  Michael was born November 18, 1941 in Denton, TX.  He lived in Gravel Ridge, AR for 34 years. He was stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base until he retired in 1981. He then went to work for Pulaski County School District where he worked for 23 years and retired from Northwood Jr. High.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lorene James of Tyler TX.  Brother Ronald James, Leslie James of Sioux City, Iowa. Sister Phylis DeVines of Applinton, IA.

Survivors include his son, John Steele of Jacksonville, daughter in law Connie Steele of Jacksonville,  sisters Joyce Moody of Whitehouse, Texas and Katherine Clevenger of Henderson, Texas. Grandchildren Keith Steele, Conway, AR, Nick Steele and Theresa Steele of Jacksonville. Great-grandchildren Elijah Marilyn of Jacksonville, AR; Korben and Kevin Steele of Conway, AR, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made in Michaels honor to the American Cancer Society for research.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and will be held at Weir Cemetery in McRae, Arkansas on Wednesday October 12th 2016. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm, Under the direction of A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400
