James “Randy” Strickland,64

James “Randy” Strickland, age 64, of Jacksonville, passed away April 26, 2017. He was born to James and Melba Strickland on September 1, 1952 in Searcy, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. He retired from Remington Arms with over 25 years’ employment. Randy volunteered at North Metro Hospital and the Military Museum in Jacksonville.

Randy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary; two sons, James Strickland of Jacksonville, Arkansas and John (Katie) Strickland of Rogers, Arkansas; granddaughter, Brooklyn Smith of Rogers, and grandson, Matthew Smith of Rogers.  

Memorial Service will be at 2 pm, Sunday, April 30, at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville.

Memorials in his honor may be made to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  501-982-3400.

    I am sad tonight as I think about our family without Randy but I rejoice that I know where he is. He was always a joy to be with and we will miss those good times. He loved his family and always took good care of my sister and his sons. He has left a great legacy for them.

    I met Mr Stricland at the hospital when my daughter Kayla was there he was such a nice and funny man I remember Katie dad asking him and his wife do you guys want cheese cake Mr Strickland said do we look like we need cheese cake I will never for him

    Randy was a great person and goes back a long ways in remembering Jacksonville for me! I certainly will miss him! May God Bless his family and remembering he will truly be missed!
