Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Linda Diane (Dickson) Harris age 70

Linda Diane (Dickson) Harris age 70, a lifelong resident of El Dorado, fell asleep in death on Friday May 05, 2017, following a lengthy and courageous battle with Cancer. Linda was the 9th of nine children born to Mildred (Butcher) Dickson on November 06, 1946 at the old Warner Brown Hospital in El Dorado, AR.

Linda met and married Jimmy Charles Harris , and they both worked very hard buying and fixing up several houses.  She always knew how to bring an old house to life and make it a home. Her home was always the hub for the family to meet and visit, and where she was always a very generous and welcoming hostess to all who entered.  She would make sure no one left their hungry and would always encourage ones to read the Bible and learn about Jehovah God’s ways.

Linda always had a knack for styling and fixing hair and was determined to get her cosmetology license which she obtained around 1976.  Linda was very excited and well pleased when she opened up her own hair salon which was located at 435 E Hillsboro Street, which she proudly named Linda K’s.  She delighted in making her customers feel good about themselves and made sure they left with a smile on their face.  Linda was very happy to have her hair salon located adjacent to her residence, cause it allowed her to operate her business and  to care for her husband and four children, which she was very adamant about doing.

Linda was preceded in death by her Mother, Mildred (Butcher) Dickson, a beloved son Joey Wayne Belin, a grand-daughter Madison Elaine Huffman, a grand-son Seth Thomas Huffman, three brothers – Desmond Ardie Dickson, Kenneth Durwin Dickson, and Johnny Raymond Dickson all of El Dorado, and two sisters – Norma Jean (Jackie) Grady of Conway, AR and Barbara Ann Upshaw of Orange, TX.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jimmy Charles Harris, Sons: James Belin Jr. (Norma) and Michael Shelton Kelly, a Daughter, Melinda Elaine Kelly, Grandsons: Joseph Clayton Belin, Trey Shelton Kelly (Nicole), Gabriel Charles Huffman, Great-Grand Sons: Austin Tyler Belin, James (Little Joe) Joseph Belin, and Trey Shelton Kelly Jr. Great-Grand Daughters: Dallas Nicole Belin and Faith Kelly, and Great, Great-Grand Son Jake Miles Belin and Great, Great- Grand Daughter Aubree’ Adele Belin,  all of El Dorado,  three sisters: Joyce Jones, Delora Holloman, and Angelene Warren all of Little Rock, AR and a sister in Law:  Barbara Dickson of El Dorado and a host of nieces and nephews who have lots of fun, loving and cherished Memories of their “Aunt Linda”. May you Rest in Peace!

A private memorial service and reception for family and friends will be announced at a later date.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400

So sorry to hear of Miss Linda’s battle with cancer. She was a greatwoman and always a lot of fun. She was like another mom to us all back when all of us kids hung out together. Lots of fun memories!

Truly sorry for your loss. My twin sister and I were really good friends with Melinda in our early teen yrs. Linda was always so nice to us. Our Aunt was also married to her brother, and I worked with Norma several yrs ago. Many hugs and prayers to all.
