Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Roland “Bruce” Jenkins, 65

Roland “Bruce” Jenkins, age 65, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his family and friends. Bruce was the husband of Deborah Kay Jenkins and they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage together. Bruce said himself that he has gotten to do more in his lifetime than most and he is grateful for all of the exciting and memorable opportunities he was given.

Bruce was born in Hazen, Arkansas on September 5, 1951 to Charles “Roland” and Lottie Jenkins. He retired from Target Distribution Center and ACE Distribution Center both in Maumelle, Arkansas, as an Industrial Maintenance Technician. Bruce also devoted many years to the charitable organization Central Arkansas Buckmasters of which he was the chapter president for many years.

Bruce was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Bruce and his wife Debbie enjoyed bass fishing together for fun and in tournaments. Bruce spent a lot of time teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt and fish. He also guided deer hunts on a ranch in Texas. Bruce also enjoyed hunting bear, moose, elk, duck, and axis deer. He spent a lot of time working on projects around the house and tending to his garden. Bruce was also the guy you could call if you needed a hand. He was always willing to help. The time Bruce spent enjoying his hobbies created many lasting and loving memories for his wife, family, and friends. We will miss him so much, until we meet again.

Bruce is survived by his spouse, Debbie Jenkins of Greenbrier, Arkansas; children, Jamie Jenkins and wife Brandy of Ward, Arkansas, Joshua Jenkins and wife Elizabeth of Cabot, Arkansas, and Stephanie Coleman and husband Clark of Greenbrier, Arkansas; and grandchildren, Ryan Jenkins, Jordan Dullard, Jonathan Cain, Jonah Coleman, Madison Cain, Rylee Jenkins, Elijah Coleman, Joshua Jenkins, and Drake Coleman. Bruce has two sisters, Carlotta Linam and Kathy Cook of Hazen, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles “Roland” and Lottie Jenkins of Hazen, Arkansas.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Church Alive in Conway, Arkansas. . Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400

He was more like a big brother to you for 30 years and we are both heartbroken. Not a better guy to share our time here on earth with. Never had a problem telling the ones he loved that he loved them and we didn’t either. Love both my Bruce’s.

Bruce was a true friend that taught me so many things about how to be a better person. Debbie continued that work, and both of them have been an inspiration in my life. They care so deeply about everyone and I’m proud to say that Bruce left the world a better place than what he found it. Their marriage is an inspiration and the love they have for each other, their kids, and their grandkids is unconditional. The kids and I are so very lucky to have known Bruce and Debbie. Our heart breaks over his passing. Debbie, we love you and your family dearly and we are so sorry for your and your family’s loss.
