I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to Greg’s family. For right now there’s no detour around grief, no short cut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, “… power beyond what is normal “, to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, “… all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out “. Jesus was referring to the resurrection, this is our amazing hope! The Bible describes our hope as an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us, keeps us from feeling a sadness that’s overwhelming. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, “… the God of all comfort “. One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now during this time of sorrow.

My dear Sammie and family, no words can ever comfort a mother who loses her child- but know we are praying that God will be guiding you as the days go forward, and that you may find comfort from those surrounding you.

I have such great memories of Greg from school. He was my middle school boyfriend, we rode the school bus together as well. That seems like so long ago and yet the memories are so fresh to this day. I remember for Christmas we exchanged gifts- he gave me some beautiful soaps and I gave him a necklace from Fred’s.
    Rest In Peace Greg,

My thoughts and prayers are with Greg’s family. I have many funny memories of his childhood mischief throughout our school years. It was also great to see that smile every now and then when I’d run into him on my visits to AR.
