Brenda Joyce (Swinford) Hughes of Bauxite, Arkansas went peacefully to be with our Lord, surrounded by loved ones at Alcao Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benton Arkansas on July 08, 2017 at the age of 68. Brenda was born on June 25, 1949 in Dumas, Arkansas to Leroy Swinford Sr. and Edith Ballard Seay. After the passing of her husband in 2003, Brenda became a caregiver, were she found happiness in the service of others. Brenda was a head strong spitfire, a straight shooter with a matter of fact personality. She fought hard her entire life and loved even harder. Her enduring spirit will be truly missed.
Brenda is survived by her sons Jerry Hughes Jr, Mark Hughes (Ellen), Wade Hughes (Michelle). Her brothers, Larry Kell (Trish), Jeff Swinford; sisters, Beverly Johnson (David), Becky Reed (Stephen); grandsons, Cameron Hughes (Emma), Zachary Hughes; granddaughters, Miranda Hughes, Sara Hughes, Deajia Kallett and one great grandchild Emily Lynn Christian. She is also survived by a host of brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Brenda is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Lynn Hughes Sr.; father Leroy Swinford Sr.; step fathers, Vernon Lee Kell and Aaron Seay Sr.; her mother Edith Ballard Seay; her brothers, Aaron Seay Jr, Pete Kell, Leroy Swinford Jr; her sisters Dianne Jean Russell, Barbara Jo James and Doris Swinford.
