Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Janis Freeland, 82

Janis Freeland, affectionately referred to by some as “Buford”, returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 30th, 2017.

Janis was born in Bloomfield, Indiana on February 4th, 1935 to William H. Freeland, and Catherine Cooper Freeland. Growing up, she spent time living in both Indianapolis, and Bloomfield.  She spent much of her youth with her loving grandmother, Sue Freeland.

She was predeceased by her brother, William Edward Freeland, and nephew Scott Freeland. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sparks, and her sister, Cathy Freeland, along with nieces and nephews, Patty Settles, David Freeland, and Mark Freeland.

Before moving to Hot Springs, Janis lived in Prescott, Arizona for several years.

A private memorial service will be held. Her family asks that donations be made to Arkansas Hospice, (who cared for her so lovingly), in her memory.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  501-982-3400

Aunt Janis had a feisty spirit, an artistic ability to make anything beautiful, and was very giving of her time and talent when needed. We will dearly miss her and we hope she may Rest In Peace after working so hard at kicking cancer’s butt.
