Richard Michael Kelso, 68

Richard Michael Kelso, age 68, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on March 11, 2018.  He was born in Peoria, Illinois on September 17, 1949 to the late Francis Patrick Kelso and Betty Jean Whitehead-Kelso.

He was a proud United States Army Veteran and was a retired police officer.  He attended Oaklawn Baptist Church, in Hot Springs. 

He left behind his children Stephanie Olivo, Patricia Estelle Kelso Ocean and Jenifer Kelso Wright (Sparton); grandchildren Orion Izaaq Kelso Wright, Nathan Shelton, Cooper Singleton, Madeline Singleton and Amanda Wells; his sister Karen Griggs (Ron), nieces Stacie Griggs Rumsey (Danny), Kim Griggs Montgomery (Gordon) and Kristen Back (Donnie) as well as ten grandnieces and nephews.  He will be missed by those friends that were more like family Sandy Glover, Karen Corbit, George Craig, David Tiner, Dennis Conklin and Gene Pelkey.

A family held memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1 P.M. at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Hot Springs.

A graveside service will be held on March 23, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 E. Maryland, North Little Rock, Arkansas. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to support the family may be made to Patricia Ocean, 404 7th Ave SE, Olympia, WA, 98501 or Jenifer Wright 362 Colonial, Marion, AR 72364 or in his honor to the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400

    I’m sorry to hear that RICK has past away. My family…. mother, brothers and sister
    enjoyed meeting him and talking to him. He will be missed.

    I will extremely miss my good buddy, my police 👮‍♀️ partner at PCSO for 6 years and we were constantly in touch with each other throughout the years. My wife loved Rick as much as I did. I led Rick to Jesus several years ago and we all know that Rick is with his Heavenly Father. You will be carried in my heart ❤️ forever. I will miss you 😘 my friend, buddy and Christian brother.
