Melody Powell, 59

Melody Powell, 59 of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She was born in April 16, 1959 in Elkin, West Virginia to the late Richard Collect and Juanita Moore.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Wayne Powell, three daughters; Becky Brand (Kevin), Dina Green (Randy), Stephanie Dusch (Donald); a step-son, Daniel Martin; twelve grandchildren, Sarah, Austin, Ash Lee, Derin, Cierra, Hunter, Bryan, Matthew, Nevaeh, Katelynn, Truman, Emily; one great grand baby on the way; two brothers, Dennis Collect (Phyllis), Doug Collect (Jo), one sister Denise Maxson (Mike) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Melody was a loving wife, an amazing mother, grandmother and sister.  She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the Casino but was the happiest just being around her family.

The family ask in lieu of flowers donations be made directly to the funeral home to help with her services.

    Melody will be greatly missed. She was the one who taught me that if you throw spaghetti on the wall and it sticks then it’s done. I love all of you and miss you greatly.

    R.I.P. momma, I love n miss u sooo much n yes I’m just now getting to respond on this bc I was never told this even exsited . I miss everything about you n even though we faught alot, I would not have asked for a better mother. And u’re right my mother’s smile was just like seeing a butterfly pass by. She was always happy for most of the time however she loved yelling at us when we did wrong. Just to hear her voice again I would stand there w a smile n a hug n kiss to hear her yell out to us. I will never forget u no matter what.
