There is not a day that I can think of that Johnny did not make me laugh or put a smile on my face. Even if it had been a while since I had seen him he still made it seem like we’ve been in touch everyday. He was an amazing person. I know that one day I will see his face again. RIL Johnny. 💛💛💛

I’m sorry that I didn’t get to know him as much as I would’ve liked to. I mostly remember when him and the rest of his brothers and sisters were small. I do know that he was raised by amazing parents and has a beautiful family that was blessed to have him in their life. I do want to say as the HUGE family that we are we definitely need to get to know each other better and make the time to have more beautiful memories together. My prayers and condolences to the family, God will see everything through. I love you ALL !!

Johnny was a candle that lit bright. Anyone who was in his presence always shined a little brighter. I grew up with man, and I am honored to call him “friend.” Coming from a big loving family, like the Sowells, Johnny had a sweet heart and would do anything to “help thy neighbor.” I can say with all honesty that we never had “any words” (and I wasn’t always the easiest guy to get along with back then) but Johnny was there for me and many others; Optimistic, caring, and just overall an amazingly powerful soul.

Knowing him, as I did, I felt like I learned a lot BOTH with him and from him. His light shines bright. I just imagine the number of lives he impacted with his “light.” He did this world a much needed service with his presence. From “Mikey” to “Johnny” I say “Shine on!” I love you and I’ll see you on the other side.

To His Entire Family: There are so many of you, most of you I know personally. You have my everlasting love as well. I know that there are “no words.” Just know that you have my deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers. I will do my best to keep Johnny’s light shining bright. If there’s anything my family can do for yours, please let us know!

“Gone, but never forgotten.” God bless you all.

Last time we hung out was at a concert in Dallas. Johnny and Lauren both had big smiles on their face and that’s how I’ll remember him. I will never forget when they brought Knox over when he was a baby, either. Johnny put his bouncer up and he played with Knox until we were all laughing.

Rest easy, Johnny. I promise to watch and help Lauren however I ca.

In shock from hearing about this. Johnny was always kind to me when our paths crossed. Hard to understand why these types of things happen. I pray for healing for his loved ones. Gone way to soon. MB
