  • Kim Patton Posted August 29, 2018 8:19 PM

Christy, although I never had the honor of meeting you or Damon in person, I’ve followed your incredible love story and battle through our shared liver disease support group, and will always be inspired by it. I’ve never seen anyone fight so fiercely to live, and to enjoy every moment of that life right up until the last moment. Damon beat the odds and doctors’ predictions so many times, I truly believed a miracle was possible, and that if anyone could fight his way through this, it would be the two of you. Alas, his poor body finally couldn’t keep up with his spirit, and he had to physically leave this world, but I know he’ll never be forgotten, and will always be by your side, Christy. May you find strength and comfort in knowing this, as well as knowing how many lives the two of you have touched. Rest well, brave warrior.

  • Linda Turkaly Posted August 29, 2018 8:26 PM

  • Erik Hawkins Posted August 30, 2018 12:05 AM

    To the family:

I am an “internet friend” of Christy and Damon. I don’t personally know either of them. So, I decided to come to this page and share what I witnessed from afar as Damon led his last months, weeks, days, and hours.
I saw a man that refused to give up on life. Every picture that I saw shown a smiling Damon that was trying to make every moment build
As I told Christy on the morning that Damon was called home to a perfect body that is free from pain and discomfort, “There are no words that I may convey that can attempt to beguile the grief that you must be feeling.” Please take comfort in knowing that Damon’s story provided me and so many with the one thing that we lost on the day we were diagnosed…hope
May God be with you and yours and may we all live our lives with the grace and vigor that I observed in the short time that I “knew” you.

  • Juliet Smoot Wilkerson Posted August 30, 2018 12:17 AM

  • Vickie Posted August 30, 2018 12:32 AM

Damon was such a blessing to everyone in the LIVERATORS group. His constant testimony of Gods love, faithfulness and salvation to All was a gift. I’m so sorry he had to suffer for so long; but I also think God allowed him to stay longer to testify of Him. His reward in Heaven is great! He is dancing with Jesus for sure! I pray that all those who walked his journey with him that didn’t know God will, from his testimony come to know Him! He was a gift to us all. He will be terribly, terribly missed.
