Tamara S. Tidwell, 64 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed from this life on Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was born on March 20, 1954 in Long Beach California to Albert and Norma Jean Young. Tamara enjoyed the outdoors, cycling, sewing, and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Young. Tamara leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 37 years, James L. Tidwell; two children, Whitney Tidwell (Adam Isom) and James W. Tidwell; two grandchildren, Kestrel and Orabel Isom; mother, Norma Young; siblings, Teresa Young and Robert Young (Jodi) and a host of other family and friends.
In Lieu of flowers her family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Arkansas 201 Markham Center Dr, Little Rock, AR 72205.
Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.

I knew Tamara from her working at UAMS in the Financial Aid Department. I worked at UACCM in the Financial Aid Department and I always enjoyed seeing her at conferences. She was so friendly and I always looked forward to visiting with her. Prayers for all of the family.
Tami will ALWAYS be my “cool aunt.” She introduced me to sun tea, The Falcon and The Snowman, architecture, and wax candles from a bee hive. I love everything about her – especially her block handwriting from her drafting days in high school and college, which resembled my handwriting after Ga Tech. She loved CA and told me sooo many stories about the tall, brown grasses, the hills which ended at the oceans, the pacific spray and waves, the sequoias to the north and the hilly beaches that end at the water in the south. I will be taking my oldest to UCLA in three week. I know Tami will be looking out for her and I’ll be thinking about Tami. Love you Tidwell clan.

Tami is my only sister. Being only 18 months younger than her, we were two very cute little blond hair and blue eyes girls. Our parents dressed us alike, we had matching bicycles (stingrays with leopard print banana seats and tassels on the handle bars…) and matching skateboards. We were fun – loving, adventure seeking kids. We often walked to a nice, peaceful hillside in Palos Verdes, CA. In the spring time it was covered in beautiful bright bluish purple lupins. At the top of that hill we we sit down in the gorgeous flowers and just look out at the Pacific Ocean. Nature at it best: beautiful flowers, beautiful view, and beautiful best friend sisters just soaking it all in. I did not grow up in her shadow, but in her light. She was the smarter, prettier, more popular sister who paved the way for me to many a teacher that said “Oh, you must be Tami’s sister”, and that was a very good thing.
She will be in our hearts forever.
Teri, I feel like I know you because I’ve heard so much about you. Tami and I became the best of friends in court reporting school, and I loved her very much. After she started having memory issues and my challenging job got worse, I wasted too much time thinking about her often and thinking I’d pick up the phone and at least call J.T. and check on her after the next transcript. I am blind and couldn’t drive over to see her. This is the perfect example there’s never enough time. I saw this obituary two years too late and never got to say goodbye, but I will always remember her laugh an our adventures at the Old State House lawn when Bill Clinton announced his candidacy for President and also at the dedication of the Clinton Library with Tami and James. I have never been colder in my life than we were that day, but I will always remember that with love

James and family, my heart hurts to hear of Tamera’s passing. She was so much fun to be with and I am glad I had the opportunity to work with her on the many Scouting projects she and your family were involved with.
