I have so many fond memories of Gayle as we had our children just months apart and they had such fun growing up together. I was so proud of Gayle as she faced diversity and “took the bull by the horns”, working hard to get her degrees and make a great career for herself and was a very devoted Mother to her children. She was always a good sister-in-law and friend. Knowing her was a blessing to me.

Hi Ms Barger, I worked with Gayle at ACY VA for several years. I found a photo when going through some old stuff. I shared it with the other people in the photo and finally found this info about Gayle.
I’d like to share it with you, if you’re interested.
It’s a photo from a good day at work.
You can send me your email address or I can text it to you.
So sorry for your loss. Gayle was a great nurse and a hoot to work with.

It was obvious at our “Girls of ‘64” monthly lunch meetings that Jo Gayle loved her family. She was so kind and unselfish. That is why she was our Panther Queen and voted most popular our senior year at CHS. Thinking of you, her family, at this sad time. I will miss her, too.

My heart hurts, as I remember you, but my joy increases. You brought so many moments of laughter and meaningful meaningful memories to my life.
I remember how hard your Mom worked to take care of you, Dana, and Joe!
We became best friends when we were elected Jr. High cheerleaders.
We never flailed, always the two of us. You shared your deepest secrets.
Last time together, we talked about seeing the Sistine Chapel, and how we loved Michael Angelo! You had gone with Dana.

Gayle was a member of our “birthday club” and a great debater of current affairs. We all loved her Italian Cream Cake and champagne gatherings on she and John’s front porch. She was a dear friend for more than 20 years and will always have a place in my heart.
