Edwin (Sonny) L. Gurlen, 64, of North Little Rock passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019. He was born on December 2, 1954 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Harry and Goldie Gurlen.
Sonny loved fishing, hunting, playing pool and many outdoor sports. He worked for AT&T Phone Company for 34 years and proudly served in the United States Air Force. On April 12, 1975 Edwin married the love of his life Debbie Galyean-Gurlen in the Baptist Church in Bragg City, Missouri.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Debbie Gurlen; his son Shane Gurlen (Kelly) of Cabot; his grandchildren Kyle Johns and Brooke Gurlen both of Cabot; his siblings Nancy Hardin of Kennett, Missouri, Margret Folkes (Carl) of Kennett, Missouri, Janet Thompson (David) of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and Gary Wayne Gurlen of Little Rock, Arkansas; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.

I worked with Sonny when he worked on our manhole trailers . I was a splicer then. He was a very good mechanic and kept our trailers in tip top shape. He was always very nice to me.

Thank you Sonny for your years of friendship to my Dad, Arthur Henninger. You have always been kind and there to help when needed. The food at Rixie Deer Camp will never be the same. We are going to miss you a lot. You are now free from pain and will forever be young.
Sonny was a great friend and co-worker. I didn’t learn of his passing until recently. So sad to hear of his passing. I will miss you my brother!!! Rest in Peace
