Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Robert (Bob) Carl Bishop, 75

Robert (Bob) Carl Bishop, 75, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2019. Bob was born October 25, 1943, in Niagara Falls, New York, to Carl Henry Bishop and Mable Katherine Clark-Bishop.

Bob was an active member of the Jacksonville First Church of the Nazarene where he was a worship leader and choir director for several years. He also was a member of the Good News Fellowship Singing Group, traveling to churches around the country sharing the gospel message through song. After retirement, he began working with the Veterans Affairs office in Little Rock where he retired for the second time after 16 years of dedicated service.  Bob also enjoyed volunteering with his wife at Baptist Springhill Hospital where he was known for his coffee, hot chocolate and banter with patients’ families.

Bob was a loving and devoted husband, an adoring father, and carried the title of doting grandfather with pride. Bob’s warm, witty and welcoming personality charmed those who came into contact with him. Bob was a man who pursued the heart of God, and one who served his Lord, his family, and his local church with loving humility.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mable Bishop, and sister, Katherine Smith.

I was privileged to work with Bob for many years at VA Regional Office and then to volunteer at Baptist Health Medical Center. I will always remember his sweet spirit and his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed, but I know he is walking those streets of gold in Heaven now and is free of pain. Lois, you and your family are in my prayers.

    Aunt Lois,
You, Carla, Liz, and family are in our hearts and prayers.
We are saddened to hear the news of Uncle Bob’s passing. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow for we have lost a GREAT man, but our loss is heaven’s gain and heaven has gained an even GREATER man. From as far back as I can remember until now, I could always look up to Uncle Bob (in more ways than one).
    Our love to you all.

I worked with Bob when he volunteered st Baptist Health NLR. He was a very special person and I enjoyed talking to him and Lois every Tuesday morning. He’s bringing me hot chocolate on those mornings was a extra pleasure I looked forward to. Bob will truly missed but I know he will be watching over everyone from Heaven
