Betty Bolls Peters, age 78

Betty Bolls Peters, 78, of Jacksonville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 30, 2019 in Lonoke. She was the first of six children born to parents, Charles A. and Margaret Skipper Bolls.  She was born on April 4, 1941 at home in Culler, Arkansas.

Betty attended Carlisle High School and graduated in 1959, during her school years she participated in the band, playing the saxophone for 8 years.  She was a voice and piano student, sang in choir and acted in the Jr. and Sr. plays.

She loved to sing and dance enjoying all genres of music, especially rock and roll and the blues. She sang with her Dad on his radio shows and when he performed on the Barnyard Frolic. Betty was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

One of her greatest joys in life was spending time with “the love of her life” husband, Johnny and, spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Trips to Branson every year with her mother and sister was a very special time.

Betty worked at MASCO Fire Protection Co. as an Office Manager, for 30 years and after retirement, she worked as a Business Manager for Golden Years Manor for 15 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jaine Sage and brother Clayton Bolls.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Peters; daughter Viki Vinson of Beebe; son William Stephenson of Little Rock; step-son Kenny Fox (Mary Ann) of Beebe; brother Dan Shumate (Linda) of Cabot; sisters Peggy Bailey (Tuney) of Lonoke, Judy Henry of Little Rock and Nancy Rollins of Cabot; grandchildren Crystal Holland (Nick), Wesley Vinson (Kimberly), Spencer Vinson, Kailee Walker, and Justin Fox (Lauren); great-grandchildren Conner Bieker, Matthew Vinson, Hunter and Saylor Holland

Betty’s family extend their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care and love given by the entire team of Barnes Health, Rehab and Lonoke Health and Rehab, and the Hospice Homecare.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 10:00 am at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas with memorial service at 11:00 A.M.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Carlisle Alumni Association.
