Jerry Eugene Townsend, age 86

Jerry Eugene Townsend, age 86, of Redfield, passed away on September 6, 2019.  He was born in Star City, Arkansas, on April 9, 1933 to the late Allen and Amanda Gentry.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mona Townsend; grandson, Ryan Reed, and two sisters.  He was a lifetime member of the Oak Grove Hunting Club in Cornerville and a retired Truck Driver.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Geri Reed; son, Allen Townsend; step-son, Timothy Cooper; granddaughter, Rachel Reed, and special friend, Jane Marsh.

A family planned Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 14 11:00 am, at Redfield United Methodist Church, 210 River Road, Redfield.  Visitation will follow in the Fellowship Hall. 

Cremation arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street,  Jacksonville, 501-982-3400.

    Jerry is my former coworker (Building &Utitilies Const.), my husband’s (Joel Sanford – deceased 01/31/2018) hunting buddy, fellow softball coach of our daughters, my friend and all around good person. I am thankful I had the good fortune to know Jerry. I feel his loss keenly. Please accept my deepest condolences and prayers.

    Geri I am so sorry I am really lost for words. That don’t happen often. Lol pawpa will be dearly missed more than he knows. He touched so many peoples lives mine being one of them. You where an AWESOME MAN you ALWAYS took of yours.
    I love you pawpa things are not going to be the same with out you.
