Margaret Ann Rosamond, age 86

Margaret Ann Rosamond, 86, of North Little Rock passed away on September 24, 2019.  She was born on November 27, 1932 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late George Charles and Vida Isabell Merriman.

She was a founding supporter and member of the Amboy United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas.  She proudly served at the First Lady of North Little Rock with her husband former Mayor Bob Rosamond from 1970-1972. She also was the secretary for former Arkansas Governor Maurice Lee “Footsie” Britt before retiring from the State Capitol.  After retiring she went to work for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and the Arthritis Foundation. She loved spending time with her family and friends; she had a love of old sports cars; going to church and was an active supporter of her community and church. She also enjoyed horses and painting.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years and former Mayor of North Little Rock Bob Rosamond; her sister Emma Jane Hennessey; two nieces Kimberly Hennessey and Linda Wood Rosamond.

Margaret leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her children Susan Wilson (Steve), Bill Rosamond, Robyn Sellwood (Andy), and Bobby Rosamond; her grandchildren Dalton Rosamond, Joey Rosamond, Briley Rosamond, Stephanie Johnson, Michelle Wilson, Karen Rosamond and Rayna Elise Cannon; seven great-grandchildren; nephew Michael Hennessey (Gabi) and a host of extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 11:00 – 12:00 A.M. at Amboy United Methodist Church, 311 East Military, North Little Rock, Arkansas; funeral services will begin at 12:00 P.M. with burial at Arkansas Memorial Gardens, North Little Rock, Arkansas.

    Im so sorry for your loss I met Margaret at Arkansas Children’s Hospital when she came there to work at the eye clinic part time. Its a small world as years later I would get to meet her daughters and eventually finding out their mom was the sweet Margaret that helped out in our office. Condolences to the family.
