Johnnie Miller, Sr., age 86

Johnnie Miller, Sr., 86, of Jacksonville passed away on October 2, 2019.  He was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on March 3, 1933 to the late William and Jewel Miller. 

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to all that knew him.  He met the love of this life, whom he was married to for 55 years, Melba Storms-Miller, while at the skating rink.  The couple continued to skate together in both dance skating and speed skating.  They traveled and performed together during the 1950’s and 1960’s.  He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran of 22 years and later retired after 37 years from Falcon Jet.  He belonged to the Gold Wing Motorcycle Riders of America, Chapter A, where they logged over 107,000 miles.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Melba Storms-Miller; his brothers Edger Miller, Bill Miller and Jack Miller; his daughter Shelly Miller and grandson Matthew Miller.

Johnnie leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his children Timothy Miller (Elizabeth), Johnnie, Miller, Jr., and Guy Lowmack; his grandchildren Sheri Ruple (Brad), Brittany Miller, Mary McCullough (JD), Clint Sherman (Laura) and Shannon Dill (JR); great-grandchildren Kylee Ruple, McKenzie Ruple, Cayleb Ruple, Devin Vicars, Braylin Jackson, CJ McCullough, Rudy McCullough, Patience McCullough, Guy McCullough, Aryanna Harper, and Wyatt Sherman; his nieces Katheryn Miller and Kimberly Britton both of Oldtown, Maryland; as well as many extended family in Lawton, Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

    Johnny was a very unique person,I Loved this man and enjoyed his visits . He is with the love of his love Melba . Also any time I saw him he showed. Me her picture. Love ya Johnny Miller

    Johnny was a great friend to have, loved to talk. Loved Melba more than anything in the world. He will be missed by many. He is in heaven with all those he cared for. Prayers to the family.

    Johnny was a super friend & super motorcycle riding buddy.
    He will be greatly missed. We met Johnny & Melina in 1985. We were new to gold wing motorcycle riding, & they had already been doing it for several years.
