Doc inspired those around him to choose love and kindness because that’s what he demonstrated on a daily basis. It was an honor to work with him.

Doc was a genuine person and epitomized Christlike. His demeanor and presence at Arkansas Hospice were highly valued by everyone there. This is a tremendous loss for his family, his church, and his friends.

Doc, was a true jewel and I enjoyed every conversation that we had. He was one of the most encouraging and positive people that I’ve met. May God comfort the hearts of all of his family and friends according to Matthew 5:4.

My Condolences, I appreciated his work with Veterans. As a veteran it seems that we were forgotten but to us it was our life. Thank you Doc, I will miss you.

Doc Kenser was definitely “God’s great Joy!!!!!” and he spread that joy to all that came in contact with him. He always had a hug and a smile for each and everyone. I will miss that joy each time I come to work and pass his cubicle. My thoughts and prayers to the family. Rest in Peace Doc Kenser…..a well deserved rest.

Working at Arkansas Hospice, you expect death…….but sometimes a death will bring you to your knees. Doc is on my list of 10 men who have made a difference in my life. Almost every morning we had “our talk.” He was intelligent, kind and generous with his life. Rest in Peace, Good Man. I loved you.

A kind man with a loving heart and agile mind, and a wonderful faith. Doc will be greatly missed. The light in the world will bea little dimmer for him leaving…and the stars in heaven will burn a little brighter. Rest well sir.

Requiescat in pace, Doc. It was a blessing and privilege to know and work with you.

If I should die and leave you here awhile,
Be not like others, sore undone, who keep
Long vigils by the silent dust, and weep. For my sake – turn again to life and smile,
Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do
Something to comfort other hearts than thine.
Complete those dear unfinished tasks of mine
And I, perchance, may therein comfort you.
Mary Lee Hall, “Turn Again to Life”

Over the past couple of years, Doc and I discovered just how small this world really is when we figured out that his wife who passed last year, Tandie, was taking classes at UA Little Rock with my husband. I hadn’t seen him in a few years, yet he greeted me with the same hug and cheer that he always did back when we worked together at Arkansas Hospice. Doc, you brought so much joy to all who knew you … you will definitely be missed!

  • Tom and Sue Edwards Posted October 13, 2019 6:41 PM

To Doc’s family and friends, we are praying that God will fill a great hole that we all feel at the word of his passing. I pray the Gods healing will come to his children and mend our hearts. Doc would want that, Doc would be the first to tell us that also. We will see you again Doc. We love you.

Doc was on my mind today (and Jeannie also), a few years later. We attended church with Doc for a couple of years. He was one of the most genuine, kind-hearted people that I have ever met. Doc was so welcoming to everyone and he made us feel like we had known him for years, which is a gift. He was funny and a great teacher of the Word, and I’m so thankful that I got to meet Doc. Prayers for his family.
