Brenda Sue Johnston, age 59

Brenda Sue Johnston, 59, of Austin passed away on November 11, 2019.  She was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 24, 1960 to Clifford R. and Anita Sue McPhail.

She loved to spend time with her family, cooking, painting and loved to take her grandchildren to the Memphis Zoo. She was “MeMaw” to everyone that loved her and she loved.  She was employed with Walmart for 26 years as a CSM. 

She is preceded in death by her mother Anita Sue Lawson-McPhail, her brother Michael David McPhail and maternal grandparents Robbie and Joe Lawson.

Brenda was married over 40 years to the love of her life, Terry Michael Johnston; her children David Allen Johnston of Boston, Massachusetts and Jessica Mashburn (Thomas) of Ward, Arkansas; her three grandchildren Skylar Johnston, Brylie Mashburn and Emersyn Mashburn; her brother Brian McPhail (Liza) and her best friend Stacy Yardell as well as her extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Funeral service will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with burial to follow at 16th Section Cemetery, Austin, Arkansas.
