James “Poppy” Meeks, age 40

James “Poppy” Meeks, 40, of North Little Rock passed away on December 7, 2019.  He was born on May 16, 1979 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to James Meeks and Debra Meeks-Lloyd.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Jewel Meeks, Ernie and Gloria Biehslich; God-parents Michael and Gail Laycook; uncles Lloyd Meeks, Floyd Meeks, Cindy McKeethen-Meeks and best friend Bill McGinty

Poppy leaves behind his loving daughters Addy and KK Meeks; his father James Meeks; his mother Debbie Meeks-Lloyd (Rick); his siblings William “Billy” Meeks, Debra “DD”Meeks-McKenzie, Lloyd “Tiny” Meeks (Missy), Jamie McKeethen-Meeks, Ella Meeks; God-siblings Mike Laycook and Michelle “Mimi” Beck; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; as well as; many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made directly to the funeral home.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  Funeral will be on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Graves Memorial Baptist Church, 4617 Oak Grove Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas with burial at Riverwood Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas

    Poppy, it was such a pleasure to know you, hug you and be a part of your life. You accepted me as your step mom and always smiled that handsome smile Everytime I saw you there was always a kind word. I know you are at peace now in a life where you know you are loved. RIP sweet child in the arms of Jesus.
