Joe was a wonderful man. So sorry for his great loss. Praying for the family. I was a EMT way back in the day when he first started.
I met Joe and Susie just a couple of years ago. My Grandfather held that he would only keep knowing (work with & remember) someone that dogs and small children liked. Joe was one of those special people that dogs absolutely loved – a very wonderful and solid human being. He’s one that I will ‘keep knowing’ forever – and feel privileged and blessed for having met him.
My heart and prayers are with you and the family. I really never got to know him, but I will remember him for not being able to win Shadow over – even though he tried hard. At least he sleeps in peace and out of pain.
Joe, was a wonderful man and such a great neighbor. Greg and I loved Joe so much. Susie we are so sorry for your loss. His big grin and his love for all the animals you all cared for will be so missed. Susie we love you and our hearts break for you.

He will always be Papa Joe to me. He and Susie let me stay with them after high school, taught me how to drive, get my CNA license and treated me like his own daughter. He was a big part of my life and he will be sadly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Sexson Family. Love you all.
Joe was one of those people that captivate an audience with his many stories. He was a great man and I am proud to have known him. I enjoyed working with him also. Rest In Peace sweet friend.
I had the privilege to know & work with Joe for many years with NDMS. He was a great man to work with & I learn a few things from him. When the chips were down you could count on Joe being there. Prayers to the family.

Love you too Sam!!!
Joe loved all animals and they knew it. His gentle soul gave him an inner and an outer peace that I was lucky enough to share for such a short time. Susie, I’m thinking about you and the family.

So sorry for your loss
Joe was a wonderful man, kind and there for everyone as well as the four legged fur babies. He will be missed by all
Susie and family – I am so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful giving man. Families of EMS providers sacrifice the most. Just know Joe made a difference in so many lives. It’s apparent he loved what he was called to do even after retirement helping the fur babies. Susie its a sad time but knowing Joe is no longer suffering and is in heaven celebrating Jesus’ birthday for the first time with other loved ones would be a glorious time up there.
Love you- Diane Anderson Cook
So sorry to learn about Joe’s passing. An absolute poster example of the greatest honor we can have and that is to be in the service of others. I send my condolences and prayers to his whole family for strength and peace.
