I only met Victor one time – exactly one week before his death. It was at a job site. We had a flooring problem and our general contractor brought in Victor to see if he could solve it. Victor arrived at our site (in that beautiful yellow Corvette) with his son Austin who was there at his side helping him walk and carrying around a canister of oxygen. Victor was clearly an expert on flooring and knew immediately what needed to happen to solve our problem. But I’m writing this because Victor made such a big impression on me. It was obvious that he was quite ill but there was nonetheless a vibrant energy inside him. His body was tiny but his spirit was large. He did not exhibit a shred of self-pity about his condition instead there was a twinkle in his eye and a deep grace about this man. I feel fortunate that I got to meet Victor – if only for this brief encounter and I just wanted to pass that along to his family and loved ones.

Victor was my cousin, when I first moved here in my teens he was my companion, it was like we had been friends forever. I will never forget our memories, he introduced me to my husband of forty years. We drifted apart as we grew in our new lives, but my love for him was always special

Victor was my foster brother while I was staying with his parents who were fostering me. He knew I was scared and nervous when I first arrived and he took me for a ride to the gas station and helped me calm down. He knew people I knew and he was very caring and nice when I arrived. I lost touch with him several years ago. I am so happy he found the love of his life and had a wonderful family. I know he loved them to the Moon and Back. Rest in Peace.
