Today we held a memorial service for you at the Village Bible Church. Michael and I were able to share loving memories of you. I thank the Lord for the privilege of being your lover and husband of nearly 50 years and special friend/companion during our retirement years beginning in 2013.

Although you were 9 years older, as sisters we were always close even though you usually lived far away, which was hard. Sometimes we shared a similar laugh, and I nicknamed you “mouse”. .You also had a deep love for your family, and you were happiest around them. You loved God and the great outdoors, you were a great researcher, and you had strong opinions on many topics, which often times were different than mine. This past year you fought hard and suffered, but now you are at peace. I truly love and miss you, and you will always be in my heart.

Bill and I enjoyed our times together even though because of distance, there were not that many. At those dinners we laughed sharing fun family stories. We admired your devotion to “Dennis.” Your many moves across the country for his career must have been a challenge but your love for Dennis showed your support. Bill and I have admired your strong faith and love for our Lord which showed during your illness knowing He was with you, giving you the strength needed to persevere. We also admired Denny’s love and devotion for you during your illness as he so loving cared for you. Until we meet again, Love Bill and Patti

My favorite memory is of our time together in Chicago having dinner (Denny, you, my mom and dad, Michael and myself). We walked all around the city laughing and sharing fun memories and stories. Being a person of faith gives such comfort knowing that you are at peace and in the loving care of our Father. Today being Valentine’s Day seems appropriate to share, as this day didn’t start as what Hallmark has made it to be, but as a story of a Saint who wrote letters of encouragement and caring to someone when they could not be there in person. You will be missed here with us now however we will all be together again. Love, Buffy

Carolyn was always committed to our Lord. Many times in our Bible Study Classes, I was inspired by her dedication.. It was about pointing to the scriptures of the Bible and understanding the Christian spirit. In spite of the cancer prognosis, Carolyn never gave up in her battle against cancer. It took real strength and courage against all odds. When it was time,The Lord took her away from the pain into eternal life. This memorial service was without a doubt so inspiring by Dennis and Michael. A great testament of their LOVE for Carolyn.
