David Lynn Robinson, age 58

David Lynn Robinson, passed peacefully from this life on January 20, 2020.  He was born to Linda Kaye Watson and Homer Ainsley Robinson on November 7, 1961.  The Robinsons lived on the same land around Bayou Meto Creek in central Arkansas for over a hundred years.  David grew up climbing in the fruit trees and fishing in the pond.  He found his love of hunting early in the deer woods and it never left him.  He always had corn for the deer and love for a faithful dog.

Being the son of a gypsy and a hell-raiser, David also knew how to have fun.  His many friends will tell you in high school “the rock house” was the place to hang out and have a good time.  It was during his long-hair hippy days, that David discovered his love of fast cars.  He had a Twilight Blue Oldsmobile 442 that hugged the corners and blew his red hair back.  He would come back to this love later in life, when he sold cars for a living.  He was always talking about the latest and greatest that was on the showroom floor.

Fast cars became fast planes when David joined the Air Force.  He became a flight-line mechanic and found his calling as a Tech Sergeant working on F-16 fighter jets.  His work and the work of the teams he trained were vital to the safety of the pilots and the many people they protected. He earned many ribbons and medals and travelled the world with the Air Force, eventually being deployed to the war in Iraq. 

But the Air Force brought him to the most important place, a little pub in England where he met Julie—the beautiful daughter of a local seaside resort-owner.  They met through mutual friends and sparks flew immediately.  The only problem was the next day David couldn’t remember Julie’s name.  He had to do some detective work to find out who she was.  And when he did, he sent her the biggest bouquet of roses she had ever seen.  She agreed to another date and another, and they were married within 6 months. 

Several years later, Daimon James and Kayla Elizabeth were born.  Although they lived in England, David dreamed of returning back home to the family land and building a home of their own.  He wanted his kids to be able to climb fruit trees and fish in the pond, but this time they all had 4 wheelers for maximum fun!   

David will be missed by all his family and numerous friends.  He is survived by his wife Julie; son Daimon; daughter Kayla; brothers C.E. (Susan) of Mustang, Oklahoma; and Jay (Darlene) Wilson of Cabot, Arkansas as well as nieces and nephews: Eric, Rebecca, Emily, Abigail & Josh.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, with funeral on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. Internment will be at 12:00 P.M. at Arkansas Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
