John “Skip” M. Hodges, III, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6th.
He was the son of John M. Hodges Jr. and Martha (Tisdale) Hodges and born in Houston, TX on August 29, 1945.
Skip grew up in Pekin, Illinois and served in the U.S. Coast Guard after graduating from Pekin Community High School in 1963. After serving his country, he returned to Pekin and was a successful real estate agent alongside his father and brother-in-laws.
In 1980, Skip made Arkansas his home where he worked in real estate, returned to college, and became a teacher at Hot Springs High School.
Skip is survived by his wife, Jan (Hegg) Hodges, their children, Kendal (Daniel) Glomski, of Hot Springs Village, AR, John M. (Valentina) Hodges IV of Frisco, TX and Brandon (Michelle) Hodges of Rogers, AR, his sisters Susan Kaebel and Corrie Bennett, aunt Betty Kaebel, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many extended family members.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held later in the year at Ouachita State Park.

Jan, Kendal and family- I am so sorry for your loss. Skip was such a fun, caring guy. He was everyone’s dad when we were at Henderson and I am thankful we have that memory of graduating together. He loved you all so much. I hope he has found a big lake to hang out by. Praying for comfort in the days ahead.
