Carmen C. Gentry, a veteran of the Korean War, passed away January 27, 2020. He was born Dec 30, 1931 and was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Eva Gentry and siblings, Ida Dodson, V.L. Gentry, Gillos Gentry, Kenny Gentry, Hollan Gentry and Lee Gentry. He is survived by a sister Jo Corbett (Ray) of Clinton, AR and a brother Carl Gentry (Tannie). He has too many nieces and nephews to count and was loved by each one. He loved music and was a talented drummer with a quick wit and a sharp mind. He often said, “People are smarter than cows…but not much.”

I remember the good old days when all the brothers were at Granny’s on Cleveland St. or playing music at Mother and Daddy’s. Rest In Peace Uncle Carmen.
I met Chris about 24 yrs ago and we have been friends ever since. We I use to walk with him and Betty.We were very good friends. After Betty passed I would take him food at least twice a week and to get his groceries. I went over to take him food on the 27th of Jan.and found my friend had passed away. I was very sad, he was so easy to love, but very set in his ways.Knowing him made me a better man. RIP My Friend! I miss him so much❤️

He always had the brightest smile in the room. I remember when they lived in CA we would go over every Sunday after church, eat lunch and all us kids would play while the grown ups played music or sat around talking. We even went to ballpark one summer every Sunday the whole family would get together and play ball and Uncle Carmen made sure every kid got to bat, a chance to pitch and be a catcher even if we were terrible he made sure we got a chance to play. He was such a sweet and kind man. He and my dad would trade witty and dumb jokes that made everyone laugh.
