Billy Price Gober, 81

Billy Price Gober, 81, of El Dorado passed away on March 5, 2020.  He was born in Monticello, Arkansas on January 18, 1939 to the late Wade, Sr. and Jimmie Lou Emma Price Gober.

He served proudly in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the U.S. 1st BN 30th Infantry Regiment 3rd Infantry Division stationed in Schwienfurt, Germany.  He worked for Kroger, Piggly Wiggly and Gober Grocery in Monticello, Arkansas and Colonial Baking of El Dorado for nine years.  He worked for 21 years for EZ-Mart, and for 23 years at Sav-A-Stop in Amarillo, Texas.  He enjoyed his work so much he would call it his hobby. 

He is preceded in death by his siblings Ruby, Helen, Wade Jr., James, and Curt Gober; and brother-in-law Charles Savage.

Bill leaves behind the love of his life and beautiful wife of over 60 years, Marilyn (Gunn) Gober; his children Kimberly Gober and Jason Gober (Johnnye); his grandchildren Bayley Leanna Gober, Ila Grace Hyams, Brooke Lynne Gober, and Jackson Price Hyams; his siblings Hershel Gober of Palm Coast, Florida and Peggy Savage of Monticello; as well as, many extended family and friends.

Visitation will be at Immanuel Baptist Church, 3209 West Hillsboro Street, El Dorado, Arkansas from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2020, with funeral services to begin at 12:00 PM.

    Ray and I are so very sad at the passing of our brother-in-law. Having been family members for fifty years, we have had ample time to see expressed and to be the recipients of his unlimited generosity. We will miss his quick wit and cooking, especially his fried fish and breakfast casseroles.
