Nicholas R Hurkes ll, 63 of Junction City, Arkansas passed from this life March 19, 2020. He was born in Butte, Montana on July 31, 1956 to the late Robert Nicholas and Charlotte D Hurkes. Nicholas was of the Christian faith, a Free Mason, and an accomplished photographer. Nicholas had in his early career had the privilege of being the royal photographer for the Eastern Star Conventions as well for many up and coming county music stars in their time. In later years he was known for his work for Mardi Gras in New Orleans and other local festivals, weddings, proms and other social events. Nicholas loved his family, his friends, his dogs and he loved life. 

He is also preceded in death by Robin Teresa Baily, Jamie Bailey, Susan Denham, Thomas Hurkes, Tom Fish and Dalton J Hawkins. Nicholas leaves behind his wife Patricia Hurkes; children Robert N. Hurkes lll (Jessica), Martha Nance (Antonio), Gloria Ashley (Jon Ross), Nichole Hurkes, April Barnes, Nathan Hawkins (Amanda), Cinderella Shelby Hurkes; eleven grandchildren Tristan, Alexander, Tobias, Annaka, Honey, Emre, Rayf, Peyton, Zander, Levi, Dakota, Samantha, Danielle, Jacob; siblings Sherry McKinney, Linda Johnston, Gloria Yancey, Nicolette Ptaszynski; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, his dogs Trigger and Tazz and other friends and family.

 In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or to Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas. A service will be held at a later date. His online guestbook is available at www.anaturalstatefuneralservice.com

    Trish I am so sorry to hear about Nick. He was a wonderful friend, and I could see that he made you very happy. I always enjoyed delivering packages to you and him and he always offered me food and drink. He will be missed by all that knew him. I will miss seeing him in Home Depot. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please let me know if I can help you in any way. You have always held a special place in my heart, and I love you dearly my friend.
