Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Lisa Faye Wilder, age 63

Lisa Faye Wilder, age 63, longtime resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday April 28th, surrounded by her loving family.  By her sheer will and determination to live, she fought a courageous battle with brain cancer for over twenty-five years, achieving a survival rate classified as statistically rare.  In the face of insurmountable odds and incredible personal challenges many can only imagine, she soldiered on striving to build a life for herself and giving hope and inspiration to others.

Lisa is survived by one daughter, Misty Leanne Juola and her husband Mike of Benton Arkansas; one grandson, Cole Witherington also of Benton Arkansas; her parents, Suzanne Faye Fisher of Cape Girardeau Missouri; and Charles John Wilder, Sr. and his wife Paula Kay Wilder of Kennett Missouri.  She is also survived by four siblings:  twin Leah Gaye Wilder of Kansas City Missouri; brother Charles John Wilder Jr. and his wife Susan of Dallas Texas; sister Teresa Suzanne Westbrook and her husband Kent of Dallas Texas; and sister Robyn Lea McCulley and her husband Terry of Cape Girardeau Missouri; and three step-siblings:  Jana Robins Sirois and her husband Rocky of Aiken South Carolina; David Thomas Robins of St. Louis Missouri; and Joni Robins Boone and her husband Larry of Kennett Missouri.  She was preceded in death by one step-sibling, James (Jimmy) Marlin Robins.  She leaves many adoring nieces and nephews and many more family members and friends who will sadly miss her, especially her numerous friends in the Woodland Heights senior living community.

Lisa graduated from Arkansas State University with honors in three years with a bachelor in business administration in accounting.  She was a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA and the Arkansas Society of CPAs.  Lisa started her professional career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently held the position of Chief Financial Officer at various businesses and non-profit organizations.

In addition to love for her family, Lisa had an enthusiasm for the arts, cinema, and photography.  She was known for her quick wit, her photographic memory, and her passion for a wide array of social causes.  Lisa was active in cultural and social activities at Woodland Heights where she was a friend to all.  She loved to be with family and was always enthusiastic for trips to the lake or the beach, to weddings, to family reunions, or any gathering of friends.  She will be missed dearly but her love will live in our hearts.

Services will be private.

Donations to the American Brain Tumor Association (American Brain Tumor Association Donation) will be gratefully appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. 501-982-3400

I was saddened to read of the death and struggle of Lisa, yet gratified to see the good she has done. She was one of my students during my years as a teacher in Kennett. Many years later I saw Lisa as an accomplished CPA in Little Rock. Lisa, Leah and and their brother Charles John were all outstanding in their respective ways. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Lisa’s family in this difficult time.Bob

I knew Lisa years ago through the American Society of Women Accountants. She was the President of the Central Arkansas Chapter in the late 1980s.

I am sad that I found out of Lisa’s passing. My husband and I met Lisa in Baptist Hospital Rehab. My husband was in there after brain surgery in July 2013. She was always so cheerful and happy and I got her phone number to stay in touch but lost touch with her anyway. My husband passed with his brain cancer 12/2/2013. My heart goes out to all of you. Lisa was very special to both my husband and myself. Praying for all of you.
