Betty Lee Atkins-McClain, age 86

Betty Lee Atkins-McClain, 86, of Newark passed away on May 18, 2020.  She was born on February 27, 1934, in Batesville, Arkansas to the late William H. and Ottie (Falice) Atkins.

She was a loving mother and friend who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling to Branson with her best friend Dorothy, and watching TV.  She worked at the White River Medical Center for many years and at Woodlawn Nursing Home as a Certified Nurse Aide.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence McClain; her siblings Willene Chapman, Hubert Chapman, WT Atkins and an infant sister.

Betty leaves behind her loving son Roger McClain (Susan); her cousins and family Larry McClain, Judy McClain, Linda McClain, Jerry McClain and Montin McClain; many extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at Blue Springs Cemetery, 1301 Long Street, Newark, Arkansas.

In Betty’s honor memorials can be made to the funeral home to assist with the unexpected expenses.

In light of the current health concerns, Betty’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, there will be a limit of 50 guests, all guests over age 10 must wear a face covering to attend and social distancing guidelines will be in place.
