Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Alpha Jean (Vocque) Ellis, age 91

Alpha Jean (Vocque) Ellis, 91, passed from this life to her eternal reward on July 25, 2020.  She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 18, 1929 to the late Jewell Daniel and Hazel (Bright) Vocque.

She lived her life devoted to the Lord, the Church, her husband and her family.  Her faith was in the Church of Jesus Christ Our Lord.  Royal blood flowed in her veins; she was a child of God. She served God, by volunteering and donating her time and money, in such endeavors, as being the President of World Missionary Society, hosting Evangelist and Pastors in her home, the Assistant Director of Children’s Bible School, taking children to church camp, hosting wedding and baby showers, and volunteering as a school nurse. She participated in campaign drives for the American Red Cross, donated Bibles through American Bible Society, contributed to DAV, the Wounded Warrior Project, the St Labre Indian School, and Christians United for Israel.  She began her 67 years of marriage to Ralph Reece Ellis on August 1, 1953 in Saline County, Arkansas with an entourage of his and her family at midnight by the Justice of the Peace.

Jean will be remembered by her loving, devoted husband of 67 years, Ralph Ellis; a host of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many others that were not her own.

In light of the current health concerns, Jean’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guests in attendance will be required wear masks/facial coverings and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

Her visitation will be on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas with her funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Arkansas.
