Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Jane Gibson George, age 73

Jane Gibson George, 73, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2020.  A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, Proverbs 17:22 describes her well, as she was a cheerful and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her delightful sense of humor brought much cheer to all.

Born June 8, 1947 she is the daughter of the late James L. “Gibby” Gibson and Norma Mills Gibson and sister to the late Dr. James Bradley Gibson and late Dr. Gordon Gibson (Mary). She is survived by her loving husband, Charles “Charlie” George, daughter Allison George Freeman (Keith), son Andrew George (Mandi), and four precious grandchildren, Georgia Freeman, Aubrey Jane Freeman, Arianna George and John George. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins she cherished.

Jane’s home was a wonderful home for her mother, Norma, for many years before her passing in April at age 100.

A steadfast Christian all her life, Jane loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was reared in the First Church of the Nazarene and later joined Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

She was a long-term exemplary employee of Baptist Hospital where she was Human Resources Manager and Nurse Recruiter and creator of many profitable programs.  A 1965 graduate of Hall High, Jane obtained a bachelor’s degree from Azusa Pacific University.  She loved music and excelled in piano and voice, touring the wold with her college choir. She was gifted with a brilliantly creative mind.

A private service for family at the Greek Orthodox Church will be held prior to a Christian burial at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock.

The church funeral service will be streamed virtually 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2020, on the church Facebook page – Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

Donations may be made in her honor to her great-niece’s childhood cancer foundation, Ski Fast Foundation. www.skifastfoundation.com

A very special thank you to her medical team at UAMS and to Arkansas Hospice – Kelle Mills, Lisa Adams, RN, Carly Claud, SW, Debbie Skeens, RN, Karen Hall, RN and Shirley Collins, CNA.

Arrangements are entrusted to A Natural State Funeral, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  501-982-3400

So very sorry for the family’s loss and sadness today. Lots of memories from the past of her singing in the choir at LR 1st Church. Prayers for comfort and peace during these days

Jane always said two things – one was that we made the prettiest grandbabies. Which we did. Between us we managed to have two beautiful children who gave birth to the two most beautiful little girls in the world. The second was that, together, we made a wonderful grandmother – each of us half. She had musical talent and could cook and bake, and I was crafty. Together, we made one whole perfect grandmother. I’m so sad that the other half of us is gone, and so grateful that she was the one who made me whole. Always right about that, Jane – we made a good grandmother. Together. I already feel your loss.
