Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Jerrel Lee Stivers Sr, age 73

Jerrel Lee Stivers Sr, age 73, of Jacksonville went home to the Lord while surrounded by his family and loved ones July 16, 2020.  He was born in Lonoke, Arkansas on January 19, 1947 to the late Jessie James and Bessie Mae (Farris) Stivers.

Life made the choice of drafting him from high school into the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietnam Conflict.  Upon his return to Arkansas he became a construction engineer, contributing to the construction of the distribution center for Walmart in Searcy, as well as, many other buildings in and around Central Arkansas.  He never met a stranger and had the most giving heart; he was always there to help anyone in need.  Jerrel loved his family dearly and his priorities were God, his wife and his family. He was many things; a father, a husband, a friend, a builder and a loving, caring man was quick to open his heart to anyone.

He was preceded in death by his children Dania, Angela and Jerrel, Jr.

Jerrel leaves behind his loving, devoted wife of 50 years, Shirley Stivers; his children Melinda Harris (Michael), Jennifer Shirley (Dewayne), and Amber Stivers; his grandchildren Aerisebeau Hancock, Aeribellea Hancock, Aerionna Brinkley, Rew Shirley, Caleb Harris, Griffin Harris and Luke Harris; his siblings Julie Pipkin and Juanita Loy; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins; a host of extended family and friends.

I love you, Daddy. This IS the hardest thing in my life I’ve had to face, bc you have always been the one I go to when life hits its low spots for us. I hope everyone will understand we are more alike than they will know. I may have got my looks from Momma, but my thinking is mostly you. I’m so overcome with emotion, Daddy! I just cant stop crying. It feels like when I was 3, and you needed momma to help you finish up the job you were working on. I stood at the door crying bc I wanted to go with you bc I knew everyone else was there. You worked ALOT of our family on your crews, so I wanted to go with you to see them. I know where you are, and I kniw you’re not hurting anymore. I am so THANKFUL God sent me to you and Momma, and you gave me the opportunity to take care of you, and spent those last days with you. You had more of an effect on MORE lives than people in this life will understand, and to me, Daddy you have been, and always will be my HERO. I love you. 🙏💛🎸
