Richard H. Wright, age 68

On Sunday, July 12, 2020, Richard H. Wright, loving husband and father of one child and stepfather of three, passed away in Jacksonville, Arkansas at age 68 after a long battle with cancer.

Richard was born on December 22, 1951 in Norwalk, Connecticut, to Donald and Georgianna Wright. He was a 1969 graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo, Ohio.  He went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the Central Connecticut State University and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer University. He earned his CPA certificate while with the Peat Marwick Mitchell accounting firm in the 1970’s and later worked for Connecticut Bell, LIMRA and lastly until his retirement in 2019, with ABC Financial in Sherwood, Arkansas.

Richard had a passion for numbers and astrology. He also loved raising mini-pinchers, rock music with a life-long passion for The Moody Blues and riding motorcycles.  He was known for his quick wit, his big smile, and his kind spirit and many colleagues called him “The Wizard” for his quick mind with numbers and data.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and his mother, Georgianna, who are laid to rest in Toledo, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife Norma Fox Wright; his children, Andrew Wright (Michelle) of Ohio, Candace Fox, Kurt Wright and Karen Wright all of Connecticut; his brothers, Norman Wright (Julie) of Colorado and Alan Wright (Deborah) of Ohio; his sister Janet Robertson (Richard) of Minnesota; several grandchildren, five great-grandchildren  and a host of cousins, nieces, and a nephews.

He wished to express his gratitude for his care givers at the Cancer Center, MD Anderson, Baptist Health and Arkansas Hospice and Palliative Care.

In lieu of flowers, his widow requests donations to The American Cancer Society.

Richard elected to have his cremains inurned in his home state of Connecticut.
