Walter L. Tucker, age 66

Walter L. Tucker, age 66 of Wilmar, Arkansas passed away in Little Rock, on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was born on March 13, 1954 in Monticello, Arkansas to the late Walter Tucker and Caroldine “Carol” Courtney Lair Tucker.

Walter was a loving and devoted husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He was a hard worker, and served as a police man for many years in south Arkansas. After leaving the police force he held many positions with different businesses around town and later retired from Johnson’s Furniture.  He enjoyed shooting and collecting guns as well as spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of more than 24 years Kathie Jolley- Tucker of Wilmar, two sons; Chris Tucker of Conway, Arkansas and Kyle Tucker of Monticello, two step children; Clint Stiles (Julie) and Lisa Higginbotham (Stuart), three granddaughters; Stephanie Tucker, Ashley Tucker, and Evelyn Higginbotham, one grandson Ryan Stiles and two great granddaughters; Ryleigh and Karleigh, a brother Ronnie Tucker, a sister Marcia Adams and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  

A family hosted celebration of life with gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday August 30, 2020 from 2pm- 3:30 at Ark of Faith Church 1222 Highway 83 South in Monticello, Arkansas, 71655.

    Mom and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Tucker family at the loss of Larry. We knew him for several years and he was a great person. So very sorry for your loss.

    Hard to believe as he was such a larger than life personality. I know he will be missed by all but especially Kathy and his sons. My prayers are with his family.

    Larry was a wonderful friend. I’ve known him all his life. James and I are so sorry for your loss. Loved him dearly.
