Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Linda Karen Jester Gates, age 72

Linda Karen Jester Gates, age 72, of Benton passed away on August 17, 2020.  She was born on July 6, 1948 in Springhill, Louisiana to the late Thomas James and Lillie Mae (Teague) Jester. Affectionately known as “Nannie”, she is a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.  She was a proud 1966 graduate of Pine Bluff High School.

She loved really great music and loved to dance, especially to an Elvis Presley song.  She loved writing, reading books, puzzles and watching classic movies and T.V. shows.  She loved really great conversations and spending time with family and friends.  She always had a story to tell.  She never met a stranger, and tried to spread love and kindness to whomever she met.   During both the good and difficult times, she always held on to her faith in God. She lived in this world the way she left this world, a very strong and brave woman.  What a precious gift it was to be a part of her life.

We will miss her dearly, but she will always be forever in our thoughts and hearts.  And whenever we hear an Elvis song playing, we will smile and think of her.

There was nothing in this world that she loved more than her family and friends.

Linda is survived by, her sister Barbara Choquette (Paul);  brothers Tom Jester (Pat) and Tim Jester (Nickie); son Scott Miller; daughter Lisa Parnell (Todd); son Tim Miller (Amanda); four grandchildren Laura Kaar, Joey Kaar, Hannah Kaar and Layne Miller; and one great-grandchild Rylee Gordon; many extended family and friends.

A memorial service will not be held at this time due to COVID-19.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, Carti and Women and Children First of Little Rock.

Arrangements are entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  501-982-3400

I am so very sorry for your family’s loss. Linda was special in so many ways. Although she was a couple of years ahead of me in school, she was always kind to me. May she rest peacefully in the love of God.
