Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Vonda Charlene Johnson, age 61

Vonda Charlene Johnson, 61, of Ward went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on August 10, 2020. She was born on November 12, 1958 in Paris, Arkansas to Charles Samuel and Bonna Rae (Pettigrew) Johnson.

She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, she told everyone that would listen that her love for her grandchildren were second only to God.  She had an amazing heart, and never met a stranger. She taught and showed everyone how to love unconditionally.  Her door was always open and she would never deny help to anyone. Her laughter and smile were contagious and could light up even the darkest of days.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and dinner dates with her family. She was a long-time member of That Church in Sherwood, Arkansas. She studied and read God’s word faithfully, she was the living example of God’s love. If you ever needed an ear or shoulder to lay on, she was there, she was known for her smile, laughter and her hugs. She always had a Bible verse and uplifting words, to help you through the hardest times.  She fought for life and fought for her children, she taught her girls how to love and to be strong women.  She taught her grandchildren, who were the air she breathed, how to love unconditionally, how to bake, how to give and how to give a heartfelt hug.  No matter the struggles of health and life, she always held onto her faith in God. She always repeated the verse Psalms 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” and held on to God’s love and faith to the moment she crossed into Heaven. To know her was to love her, to love her is to miss her, she lived life full of love, to know pain and sorrow of a loved one’s loss is to know their love.

She is preceded in death by her father Charles Johnson, sister Tina Hammons, grandparents Arlis and Lois Pettigrew and Samuel and Ida Johnson.

Vonda leaves her legacy of love to her children Katie Page (Jack) of Conway, Nadia Davidson (Robert) of Ward, Ricky Young, III, and Angel Young of Ward; her beloved and cherished grandchildren Wyatt, Ethan, Noah, Hannah, Kassidy, Khloe, Anastasia, Sydney, Tristin, Quinton and Madison; her mother Bonna Johnson of North Little Rock; her brother Tom Johnson (Jinny) of Sheridan; a host of extended friends and family.

Mommas Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at That Church in Sherwood. Located at 901 E Kiehl Ave. Sherwood, AR 72120.
The gathering of loved ones is at 1pm, and a family and intimate  friends service beginning at 2pm.

The family and I request that everyone adhere to CDC recommendations for social distancing and request that you wear your mask. We know, all to well, how serious things are with COVID. We want everyone to be comfortable and safe.

This is a celebration of moms life and the legacy of love that she left to all that knew her! Please feel free to just pop in during visitation (from 1-2) if that is what you would like.

did not know you except through Angel and her daughters. If what I see in them is of you, then I know the Lord’s love you had was passed on to them. Rest in love, Ms. Vonda.
