Bro Godfrey was a man you could depend on, and my how he could run when the anointing power of Jesus hit him!
We attended church with him and his family for 30 years. We could take a whole page to name all the jobs he has helped and done for us over the years.
He keep the faith and ran the race, RIP good Brother, you will be missed but you certainly left a legacy behind with huge footprints to follow.
Prayers for the family today, may God help you as only He can..

My mother passed away September of 2019 and dad ask me if he could move in with me and my husband and I am so grateful because it gave me the opportunity to spend much needed quality time with him. I know this will be a little long winded, but I have to tell about my wonderful dad!

My dad was a gentle soul. He would prefer others before him. He was always smiling and singing even during the sad times in his life. He loved to dance and it didn’t matter where he was at; If he heard music, he’d get a big smile on his face and then he would start dancing😊 If he knew you were going through a rough time, he would cry along with you and pray for you and it was a very sincere prayer. He took it serious and I would hear him praying more than once during the day or night. About the last 4 weeks, I spent a lot of alone time with him and I am very grateful for that opportunity.

I will miss you grandpa. You have left a legacy behind and were truly dedicated to God! I will never forget. I remember when I lost my baby you comforted me even though you had just lost the love of your life.
I will never forget your selflessness! Until we meet again. This is not goodbye, it is see you later!
What a glad reunion that will be!!!

I remember when Bro. Steve Hancock was preaching a revival for Bro. A. O. Holmes and met the Godfreys at Kent’s Dollar Store and invited them to church. They got the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost got them! Pleasant memories for sure.

I and so thankful I got the chance to meet Bro. Godfrey. And even more thankful to be able to se him worship God. I told many people that watching him worship inspired me and that one day I wanted to be just like him. He did not care who was watching he was going to worship God with all his heart and all his might. It gave me so much joy just watching him! He will truly be missed around Cabot apostolic church! I look forward to the day we are shouting in heaven with him!

Bro. Godfrey was an amazing person! He was so kind and made a point to say hello to everyone he met. I’ll never forget his love for dancing and running the aisles at church. I really admired his strong walk with God. He had such genuine joy that could brighten anyone’s day! He’ll definitely be missed!

  • TANYSHA WALKER Posted September 24, 2020 8:40 PM

What an inspiration Bro Godfrey was to me. I would go to church tired and it would only take a minute of seeing Bro Godfrey running the aisles and worshiping before I knew I couldn’t let someone double my age out worship me. But he could even at his age. What a reunion it will be one day! All our prayers and love. David and Tanysha Walker

I met this man at Wal Mart where I was working. I remember him , his wife and son coming in to the store. We would always find A few minutes to visit. He always had a smile for everyone.
