Leona Anna Tufts, 72, of Conway passed away on September 29, 2020. She was born on July 6, 1948 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Leon H. and Eleanor Simpkins.
She loved soap operas, music of all genres, and was completely obsessed with Elvis. She loved to dance and until she was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, she loved living life to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Daniel Tufts; her children Daniel Joseph Tufts and Louise Francis Tufts; her grandson Vernon Scheetz; her siblings Lisa Simpkins and Linda Storer.
Leona leaves behind her loving children, Joanne Hickman and Christina Appley (Thomas); grandchildren Lynne Appley, Sophia Gray (William), Chaarlee Hickman, Alan Hickman, Hunter Rainwater, LeDon Appley, Jordan Truman, and Adalynn Gray; her siblings Charlene Simpkins and Debbie Georgianna; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In light of the current health concerns, Leona’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guests in attendance will be required wear masks/facial coverings and social distancing guidelines will be in place.
Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. 501-982-3400

I love my granny very much! My granny has been my world for many years!!! I can’t believe shes gone… I’m gonna miss her so much, but I can’t be selfish about this. My grannys finally in heaven with my grandpa joe, which is what shes dreamed of for years, being able to see and hold him again!!
