Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Barbara Gale Overton-Jones, age 65

Barbara Gale Overton-Jones, 65, stepped through the gates of Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior. She passed away due to complications of COPD, she stated “Not one cigarette was worth the livelihood she missed out of for years.” She begs of you if you smoke please quit! She doesn’t want anyone to suffer one single day through it.

She was born on June 30, 1955 at Ouachita Hospital, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Douglas and Mildred (Long) Overton.

She worked as a waitress for many years at different restaurants, from fine dining to little hole-in-the-wall joints.  She was loved by everyone at her jobs including her customers.  She moved a lot, she enjoyed traveling and seeing many places in the United States. Yet she always felt the pull of the heartstrings to come home to Hot Springs, Arkansas. She loved to get out and explore, whether hopping on the bike for a great rally or a nice ride, just to feel the crisp fresh air blowing in her hair.  She loved to jump in the jeep to discover where that back road went to.  Lee and her loved checking out the beautiful State Parks, to any beach, lake, river, creek or stream.  The water ways always drew her near. Her best time were sharing fun, companionship and great memories with her friends, family, her son, Huey.  They could tell you some crazy stories.

She is preceded in death by her big brother Steve; a newborn baby; three brothers-in-law Bob Deist, Ray Hibbs and Nick Tedeschi.

Barbara leaves behind her loving son Huey (Cassie); her companion of 10 years, Lee Galbavy; her three older sisters Paula Diest, Kaye Hibbs, and Peggy Tedeschi; her nieces and nephews Laura Keeton Skipper, Kim Keeton Almond, John O. Hibbs, April Hibbs Skidmore, Shayne Deist, Bill Conrad, Jr., Michael, Kelsey, Cody, Ashlee, Chelsea, Kinzee, Jason, Dani, Mickey, Gavin, Billy Ray, Aubree, Grayson and Knox; many extended family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  501-982-3400
