Billie Joyce “Sissy” Smith, 79

Billie Joyce “Sissy” Smith, 79, of Cabot, Arkansas passed from this life into the arms of her Savior, on October 27, 2020. Hers was a full life well lived.

She was born on July 11, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She married the love of her life, Arthur Lloyd Smith on March 28, 1967, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas, where they served together faithfully.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Lloyd Smith, her parents Bill and Lela Sue Roberts; as well as, a beloved aunt, Imogene (McGloflin) Trickey, and sisters Sharron Shelton and Betty Tullos.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jon Smith and daughter in law, Stephanie Harper Smith, her two beloved grandchildren Eliza Renee Smith and Mason Arthur Smith, all of Austin, Arkansas; her sister Donna (Fernando) Rodriguez of Jacksonville, Arkansas and her brother Buddy Pettey of Lonoke, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A private graveside service will be held by the family.

In light of the current health concerns, Sissy’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guests in attendance will be required wear masks/facial coverings and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

    I worked with Sissy many moons ago and she was a great lady, headstrong and firm in her believes. So sorry for the loss to her family and my dear friend and her sister Donna. Godspeed Sissy! See you later!
