Janice Beatrice Wells, age 63

Janice Beatrice Wells, age 63, was born to Clarence and Pauline Sanders, on October 6, 1956, in Memphis TN. She was proceeded in death by her father, Clarence Sanders Sr.; sisters Norma Patricia (Pat) Boyce and Linda Evans, both of Sacramento, CA., two daughters, LaTonya Wells and Tamika Wells, both of Jacksonville Arkansas.

 Janice attended Northside High School in Memphis, TN before relocating to Jacksonville AR, where she met her husband and love of her life, Avery Wells. She worked as a steward at Billington on Little Rock Air Force Base, a manager at Circle K convenient store, but mostly, a home maker for her husband, children and grandchildren.

 Being a military wife, Janice and her family traveled extensively for the United States Air Force, making Rhein-Main Air Force Base in Frankfurt Germany their home from 1980-1983, Knob Noster, Missouri from 1983- 1987, and Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1987 to 1993. It was in 1993 that Janice and her family decided to make a home in Jacksonville, AR, their final residence after her husband retired from the United States Air Force.

 Janice enjoyed playing Bingo, a loose slot machine and traveling to Memphis to visit family and buying hot tamales. Janice was a self-proclaimed Bid Whist, Spade, and Tonk Champion, and never shied away from anyone on any domino game!

 Janice is survived by her loving husband, Avery Wells, Jacksonville, AR.; her mother, Pauline Peeples, and stepdad, Earl Peeples, Sacramento, CA; one son, Bryant Wells, and one daughter in law, Amy Wells, both of Jacksonville, AR.; seven grandchildren: LaTonya Fasl, TX.; Amaris Benavidez, AZ.; Avery Wells, Dywai Wells, Zion Wells, Michaelle Malvin and Gabrielle Malvin, all of Jacksonville, AR., five brothers and sisters, Larry Sanders, (Thelma) Sacramento, CA; Clarice Sanders-Hollis (John), Sacramento, CA; Clarence Sanders, Jr., Cumberland, MD; Helen Meeks (Ward), Sacramento, CA; and Paul Sanders (Lakeisha), Sacramento, CA; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janice also leaves Jackie Williams, TX., Ola Tate, TN., Devora Houston, TN., and Gloria Strong, TN., all long- life friends.

In light of Public health concerns, Janice’s Family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the visitation. Please be aware, as per the Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guest in attendance will be required to wear masks/facial coverings, and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 8,2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.501-982-3400

    Sorry for your lost of your loved one I remember her very well My name is Nekasha Harding I was just a young child about maybe middle school, high-school me and Tamika would go to each other house on Kirkland Air Force Base in Albuquerque New Mexico. I don’t know why today 10/21/2020 something told me when I woke to look for her (Tamika Wells) I did to find out the she had passed with a heavy heart to see that (Latonya Wells) her little sister had passed also. I want to give my deepest condolences as the passing of (Mrs. Janice Wells) to the family.
