Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Nora Lee “Mutt” Bradsher, age 86

Nora Lee “Mutt” Bradsher, age 86, Cabot passed away on October 25, 2020.

“Well done my good and faithful servant.” -Matthew 25:21

Nora was the daughter of Harry Barker and Mary Foster. She was born in Balch, Arkansas on July 25, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents and all eight of her siblings: Leo (“Suddy”), James, Ruben, Henry, Jake, Cora (“Toot”), Iler, and Jean; and an unknown number of pets.

Nora is survived by her son, Charlie Garrett of Pangburn; three grandchildren: Jason Brey Garrett of Weiner, Nikki & Michael Mumert of Sherwood, and Wes & Brianna Garrett of
Conway; six great-grandchildren: Payton Zielstra, Raegan Mumert, Maesyn Mumert, PJ Garrett, Dustin Garrett, and Lillybelle Garrett; sister-in-law Sarah Barker of McCrory; a host of nieces,
nephews, and lifelong friends; four dogs and a beloved cat.

Nora exemplified the love of Christ and was an inspiration to all. She was a born caregiver and servant with so much love to give that her cup runneth over. She always gave 110% of herself to those she loved. She was humble and lived a simple life. Even while being cared for herself, she continued to serve and care for others. She adopted the residents of her nursing home as her children, much like she had done for the animals in her community. The strays all knew where to go to live their best life and she loved them all dearly.

Nora was full of spunk and hilariously witty. She spoke what she meant and had an ornery side that you didn’t want to be on. She would give you a run for your money if you made her angry. It was this spark inside her that carried her so far in life.

Nora’s work ethic was beyond comparison. She was the strongest, most hardworking woman you would ever meet. She had perpetual energy and a love for work. From a young age she worked in the fields with her mother and continued until recent years. On the weekends, you could find her “cleaning her buildings” or ironing.

Nora loved spending time outdoors visiting with neighbors and relatives over a glass of sweet tea. She loved her sweet tea. She enjoyed long walks with her dogs, playing cards, working in her yard, and her daily “soaps” on the tv. She cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grands. They brought her so much joy. She was a fun and loving “Mom,” “Ma-Maw,” and “Granny.”

Nora was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed. We take comfort in knowing that she was received into her heavenly home on October 25, 2020, with open arms and a “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

The family would like to thank the staff at Cabot Health & Rehabilitation for their excellent care of Nora and family during her final years.

Arrangements are entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Home, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. 501-982-3400.

A memorial ceremony will be held at Fisher, Arkansas at a date to be determined.

Sending prayers for Ms. Nora’s family. She was a very sweet lady that I know will be missed greatly! I for one will miss seeing her everyday and her just stopping and saying I just wanted to check in and see how you are today and give you a hug. Of course after the hug I’d have to give her some ice cream. May God give her family peace and comfort during this difficult time and for the days ahead.
Rip Ms.Nora. sure am going to miss you until we meet again!!

The words spoken about aunt mutt are true to the word ! Beautifully written she helped my momma ( Jean ) so very much just like a sister should. I’ve seen them fight an argue an the next day be a new day ! Some of my favorite memories with aunt mutt was our yearly trips to Iowa to see the family! Uncle Henry dad a pickup truck with a camper shell we would throw a full size mattress in the back an me mom an aunt mutt would ride ! 755 miles is was never boring aunt mutt was always entertaining. Always cracking jokes about uncle Henry driving mostly . O the memories! She is the last of her siblings to make it to glory. I rest easy knowing they are together again . She will be missed on earth but deserves her reward in heaven! Rest in love aunt mutt ❤️
