Always enjoyed talking to Steve. Have many memories of coaching with and against him…watching our boys play baseball …just talking baseball. Was a good guy that will be missed.

Got to know Steve at the ballpark. As an umpire you come across some coaches who can be down right hateful. He was not one of those guys. Had a great conversation with him at Walmart, ended up being our last. Could sure teach a boy how to play ball, his kids were ample evidence of that. Glad to have called him a friend, he will be missed but I’m certain he is in a better place.

I am heartbroken to hear of Steve’s passing. I met Steve in the late eighties. We dated for awhile and during that time, he lost his dad. It was so hard on him and his family. We use to cruise Burns Park with the T-tops down listening to 38 Special. He was such a good person and I often thought about him over the years, especially whenever I heard 38 Special on the radio. I always hoped he was doing well. I pray for strength and comfort for his family at this very difficult time.
