Chester Eugene Myers age 76

Chester Eugene Myers age 76, of Cabot, Arkansas went to his heavenly home on November 1, 2020. He was born on February 3, 1944 in Beebe, Arkansas.

Chester was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a CB Radio enthusiast for many years known as “Dagwood”. He was the past president of the Vilonia CB radio club. In his younger years he enjoyed raising beagle pups. Chester was a member of the Redneck Yacht Club and loved spending time with his family on Greer’s Ferry Lake in Heber Springs.  He was known to be a great handyman and could fix or repair anything. For 25 years he was self-employed as one of the best concrete finishers around. Then after 22 years he retired from Arkansas Electric Coop in Little Rock.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 57 years, Linda Faye McDougal-Myers; two daughters Terry Keck (Tracy) and Gina Myers-Gunderman (Joe); two grandsons Tyler Keck and Tate Gunderman all of Cabot; two sisters Gladys Eddy and Barbara Muñoz-Cooper; three sister in-laws Kathy Hillebrand, Carolyn Holland (Charlie), and Patty Lovston (Steve); three brother in-laws Benny McDougal, Freddy McDougal (Linda) and Carlos Muñoz; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Myrtle Bridgeman and Jeff Bruton, his parents Joe Calvin Bates and Mable Christine Bruton-Bates; his father and mother in-law Paul and Ruby Mc Dougal; a grandson Taylor Layne Keck; two brother in-laws David Eddy and Michael Hillebrand.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. in the Chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service.   Funeral service will be Friday November 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot to follow.

In light of the current health concerns, Chester’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guests in attendance will be required wear masks/facial coverings and social distancing guidelines will be in place.
