Geneva Lee Healey, age 70

Geneva Lee Healey, age 70, of Jacksonville passed away on November 20, 2020.  She was born in England, Arkansas on November 22, 1949 to the late Carl Lee and Othel Geneva (West) Alford.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was well known in Jacksonville as the owner and operator, for 32 years, of A Hair Gallery. She was known to treat every client like they were a part of her family.  She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren.  She loved being outdoors, fishing, watching football, cooking, and playing with her little dog “Jocimo”.  She attended church at West Side Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her sisters Bea Hale and Dianne Meriweather; her brothers CW Alford and Carl Alford; her sister-in-law June Alford and her brother-in-law Don Hale.

Geneva leaves behind her loving husband of 28 years, Virgil Healey; her children Lynette Culpepper (Kelly), Jason Moring (Heather) and Christopher Healey; her grandchildren Keegan Culpepper and Justin Moring; her sister Connie Alford; brother-in-law Dale Meriweather; her sister-in-law Thelma Alford; her lifelong friend Carol Parks, close niece Tyler Platt; a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM at A Natural State Funeral Service with burial at Pinecrest Cemetery, Alexander, Arkansas.

In light of the current health concerns, Geneva’s family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers if you are not able to attend the service. Please be aware, as per Arkansas directives, attendance will be regulated in accordance to Arkansas guidelines, all guests in attendance will be required wear masks/facial coverings and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

    Jason and Lynette sorry for your loss. it’s always hard to say goodbye however she is now watching you above smiling big not saying goodbye but will say hello again soon. Grateful to know her and blessed for the legacy she has left behind. You guys are amazing and sending much love, hugs, and prayers your way as you take time to mourn your loss.

    Thank you for being my Mom! Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you for taking me to all my softball games. Thank you for all the wonderful holiday memories. Thank you for taking me to the skate rink every Friday night. Thank you for putting me back in check when I got out of line. Thank you for giving me the best little brother I could ever hope for. Thank you for teaching me how to cook. Thank you for all the birthday parties, back to school clothes shopping, wiping away my tears when I was crying, and hugging me when you knew I needed my mommy! I am going to miss you so much momma! Thank you for loving me!

    Geneva always cut mine and my family’s hair. Every year a free hair cut. We were friends for over many years.. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. Geneva was loved by all.

    You were my best friends mom and just like a mom to me growing up. You would call the school and check me out if my mom couldn’t 🙂 You trimmed my hair for years and I will never forget you. Love you…so sorry Jason, Lynette, Heather, Justin, Keegan, Kelly, and Virgil for this tremendous loss. She is now in no more pain.

    To Virgil,Lynette,Jason and grandchildren and family-My heart goes out to all. Geneva was a one of a kind person-fun-kind- and loving. She did my hair for 30 some odd years. and she made a lot of Jacksonville men and women look good. hold on to your precious memories. Find comfort in knowing she is in a beautiful place and walking with our Heavenly Father. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
