Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Ernest “Ernie” Emmitt Porter III, age 65

Ernest “Ernie” Emmitt Porter III, 65, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was born in Montebello, California on September 6, 1955 to the late Ernest Emmitt Porter, JR., and Earline Lillian Young.

Ernie grew up in Fullerton CA where he enjoyed boating, water sports, riding motorcycles with his life-long friend Brett Allen. Ernie worked as an owner operator truck driver. He had a strong work ethic and was an excellent provider.

Ernie considered everyone a friend.  He never met a stranger.  Everyone loved being with Ernie. He had a great sense of humor and a love for life. He would light up a room and fill it with happiness and joy with his laughter and zest for life.

He was a fantastic chef and loved to feed the people most special in his life.

Ernie would help anyone with anything.  He could literally fix anything and amazed people with his ability to breathe life back into anything mechanical.  “If Dad can’t fix it, nobody can!”

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Earline Porter.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cheryl Porter; daughter Kristy Porter, RN, BSN; and son Ernest Porter; two precious grandchildren, Christian Porter and Bella Coleman who added a brilliant light to Ernie’s world.  He adored his grandchildren.

Ernie was loved by all who knew him.  He leaves a gaping void in the hearts of his family and will forever be missed beyond measure.

Arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas.
